USCIS Announces New Edition of Form I-693 for Green Card Applicants

U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) has published a new edition of the form I-693 dated 07/19/2022. The new edition of the form will come into effect from October 5, 2022. This means that if your civil surgeon signs your form on or after October 5, 2022, you must use the 07/19/2022 edition. However, applicants may submit the 09/13/2021 edition form later if the civil surgeon signs it before or on October 4, 2022.

What Is Form I-693?

The Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, also known as form I-693, is a form containing the results of your immigration medical exam, which you have to submit when applying for the Green Card. The results of this exam are necessary to prove that you are fit to enter the United States and don’t pose any health risk to the citizens.

What Does This Mean for the Current Edition?

The current edition (09/13/2021) of the form came into effect from December 9, 2021, and was due to expire on March 31, 2022, but USCIS allowed the use of the edition until the new edition was published. The 09/13/2021 edition will now expire on October 4. 2022. However, as mentioned earlier, you can still submit this form after October 4, 2022, if your civil surgeon signs it before the expiration date.
